Endemic to the waters of the Indo-Pacific, Hawaii, the Red Sea and The Bahamas, Collector Urchins are very effective algae eaters with a particular affinity for coralline algae. Their name is a reference to their habit of collecting rubble, snail shells, coral frags and anything else they find on top of their bodies!
